Thermal and Beach Baths of Eger

Guests of our hotel can use the services of the Egri Thermal and Beach Baths free of charge. The beach is just a few steps away through the hotel garden. The swimming pools on the beach are open during opening hours and can be used without restrictions. The spa has thermal and spa pools, a swimming pool, a children's adventure pool with a waterfall and a hot tub. Guests can also use the indoor adventure pool free of charge. In the summer, access to the Thermal and Beach Baths is provided via a passageway.

The development of Eger's bathing culture

One of Eger's greatest natural treasures is the radioactive thermal spring water that emerges from the depths of the earth. The springs of the Eger thermal baths are more than a thousand years old. Even the Turks recognised their healing powers and, after the conquest of Eger Castle in 1600, built huge baths where pilgrims from far and wide came to enjoy. According to a 17th-century record, the Turks had a great appreciation for the healing waters, which not only healed the body but also revitalised the soul. Over the centuries, baths and bathing buildings were built around the abundant thermal springs, and the waters were used to cure the sick according to the standards of medicine of the time. In addition to its therapeutic use, the waters of the Eger thermal springs have been used for recreation, leisure and sport in the past and continue to be used today. The origins of Eger's present-day spa culture date back to the 1920s, with the creation and development of the spa by Géza Bárány, the city's chief engineer. In 1936, the Thermal Baths of Eger opened its doors next to the Turkish Baths.

Turkish Baths

The original Turkish Baths, built in the early 1600s, were extended with five more pools (ilijsa), saunas, massage, steam bath and ash bath (traditional Turkish steam bath). In addition, relaxation areas with aesthetic elements and atmospheric lighting add to the Turkish atmosphere.

The uniqueness of the Turkish Baths is the relaxing bathing and massage in an oriental atmosphere. The architectural design evokes the atmosphere of the original Turkish era.

Sauna Island

The sauna island, open daily from 8:00 to 20:00 on the ground floor of our hotel, offers a Finnish sauna, infrared sauna, aroma cabin, steam cabin and tropical shower to recharge your body and soul.

Massage

Special massages with high quality Spa Du Monde luxury massage creams are available from 10.00-18.00. The cost of the massages will be charged to your room bill. Please contact the information desk at the entrance to the sauna island.
